Since 1981 November 30 (Date of 1^st Appointment)  Worked in different Ministries and Departments as Head of Administration at Meteorological Services (KIA), Court Reporter in Judiciary, Head of Administration at Magomero College, Malawi College of Fisheries(Mpwepwe)

In Ministries of Health and Education I headed a unit responsible for resolving all legal issues which employees were the ministries Health and Education to Ombudsman or to courts of law

Between 2007 and 2013 I was elected President of Civil Servants Trade Union and because of this, between 2008 and 2010 I was chairperson National Consultative Council (NCC), a platform of all Public Sector Unions is Malawi which are affiliated to Public Services International in France. During the this period I attended ESAMI courses on Labour Management. I also became a Trainer of Trainers in Trade Union Management, Gender and Corruption Fight.

Countries travelled include South Africa, Tunisia, Senegal, Norway, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya

I retired voluntarily (before reaching mandatory Retirement Age) on 31^st December 2013 whilst serving in the Ministry of National Defence Headquarters at the position of Chief Human Resource Management Officer (P5) and I was deputizing the Head of Human Resource Management and Development.

Mr. J Somba

Director J J Somba belongs to 2 Committees of the Board, Technical Committee of the Board and Finance Committee of the Board.

The Director is the Chairperson of Finance Committee (Finance, Audit, Risk, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee). He is also Vice Chairperson of Technical Committee of the Board.

Mr Somba has the following qualifications, Msc in Construction Management, BSc in Quantity Surveying and a Diploma in Engineering.

In the past he has worked for Ministry of Works and Supplies (then) worked as Chief Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Officer;  Director of Buildings; Controller of Housing Services (First holder, Ministry of Lands and Housing); CEO for National Construction Industry Council (NCIC); Unit Coordinator for Education Infrastructure Management Unit (EIMU, in Ministry of Education, funded by DFID); Quantity Surveying Specialist (Government Contracts Unit, under OPC) responsible for vetting Goods, Services and Works Contracts for Ministries, Departments and Agencies; Contracts Manager/Deputy Project Manager for Rehabilitation of existing Barrage and Construction of new bridge on Shire River at Liwonde Barrage (Ministry of Water and Irrigation, World Bank funded). He is a registered member of Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board in Malawi, Surveyors Institute of Malawi and Formerly Registered with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors of UK from 1989 to 2020.

Director Somba is a Former President of Surveyors Institute of Malawi, Former Registrar and Board Member of Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board in Malawi, Former Ex-Officio Board Member of National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) and Former Ex-Officio Board Member of National Roads Authority (Now Roads Authority).

Mr. Jordan Chipatala

A Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a Master in Business
Administration (MBA), Jordan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with the Malawi
Accountants Board (MAB). He also holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree (BAcc)
obtained from the University of Malawi, through the Polytechnic.
Jordan sits on the Ethics and Investigations Committee of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He has also served for two terms as a board member for
the Association of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), representing East African
countries.
He has over 25 years’ experience in both public and private sectors offering a rich blend
of leadership and financial management skills. Before joining MHC in 2016, Jordan has
previously worked in various managerial functions with the Central Medical Stores
Trust, Sunbird Tourism Limited, Malawi National Examinations Board and Malawi
College of Accountancy as a Lecturer.

Mr. Lameck Tchaka

Acting Director of Administration and Corporate Services

Lameck Tchaka is an accomplished Human Resource Practitioner with more than 20 years practical experience in the field of Human Resource Management and Administration. He is currently Acting Director of Administration and Corporate Services. In this role, he is responsible for managing Corporate Services including but not limited to servicing the Board, developing and reviewing policies, plans strategies and overseeing the development of programmes of Corporate Services. Substantively, Mr Tchaka is Human Resource Manager of the Corporation. Prior to joining Malawi Housing Corporation, he served with Malawi Savings Bank as Human Resource and Administrative Officer. Prior to joining Malawi Savings Bank, Mr Tchaka served with the Press Group of Companies and its subsidiaries in the field of Human Resources and Management. Mr Tchaka holds a Master of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Malawi and “A” Levels from Kamuzu Academy.

Mr Blair Chitimbe

Mr. Chitimbe is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and A fellow of
Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) He has over twenty years’ experience in the
accounting field. He holds a MBA with merit from the University of Derby. Prior to taking
up his position as Acting Director of Finance for MHC, he was the Finance Manager for
over 5 years. A dedicated worker, and firm believer of hard work, integrity and team
spirit. Blair has a wonderful sense of humor and takes pride in developing his team to
reach greater heights.

Mrs. Ndifanji Kabango

Ndifanji Kabango has vast hands on experience in both private and public sector management.  She joined Malawi Housing Corporation on 1^st February, 2011 as Principal Administrative and Human Resources Officer.  She had the priviledge of understudying leadership styles of three Regional Managers before assuming the role of Regional Manager (C) on 1^st September, 2021. Ndifanji has also worked for Total Malawi, BP Malawi now Puma Energy and Malawi Broadcasting Corporation as Human Resource Manager, HR Advisor and Assistant Controller – Administration respectively.

Ndifanji graduated with a Master of Public Administration and Management and Bachelors in Human Resource Management from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College. Her vision is to contribute to the attainment of appropriate approaches in resolving recurrent and tenacious land conflicts amidst progressive urban growth.

Ms. Stella Sokosa

Stella Ndoledye Sokosa is the Regional Manager for the East. A Chartered
Valuation Surveyor from Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and
Graduate Surveyor registered with Surveyors Institute of Malawi (SIM). She
joined Malawi Housing Corporation in 2007 as an Estates Officer and rose
through the ranks to become a Regional Manager.
She holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Real Estate from University College
of Estates Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science
from University of Malawi, Bunda College.

Miriam Elton Msapato has worked for Malawi Housing Corporation from January 2007 and has a vast experience of 15 years.  She has worked as Estates Officer, Estates Services Manager and Regional Manager.  Miriam also worked for Indetrust Limited which was a sub-sidiary of Indebank Limited.

Miriam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Malawi – The Polytechnic.  Her vision is to promote estates management for Malawi housing Corporation so that the Corporation maintains its status in competitive property market.

Mariana Kumvula Banda

Regional Manager North

Mariana Kumvula Banda has joined Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) on 1^st  October, 2021. She has worked with Local Government as an Assistant Director of Planning and Estates Management Services for Mzuzu City council for 5 years. To add on that, she has also worked with Local Government as a District Lands officer for Mwanza district council for 3 and half years. Mariana has also worked an adjunct lecturer for 2 years in Land Administration department at Natural Resources college now known as LUANAR.

Mariana, holds a Bachelor of Science in Land Management (Physical Planning) obtained from Mzuzu University in 2011. Her vision is to promote access and equity to orderly, safe and affordable homes to all so that MHC maintains its long outstanding reputation of being a leading provider of decent and affordable housing and ancillary services in Malawi.
